Bukidnon: Dahilayan Adventure Park

The ride

“You haven’t seen a tree until you’ve seen its shadow from the sky.”  ~Amelia Earhart

I always thought of flying less the airplane or helicopters is the best thing to do as a kid but as time goes by perception changes on flying as the reality strikes wider and bolder that human can not fly alone without the help of technology.

Currently, flying with the use of sophisticated technology is fast expanding aiming not just around the earth but to other planet.

Now, I am talking out of what I really wanted to say here but the point is even if all the sophistication around us nowadays, the basic tools of feeling to fly is just by mere cables and harness and this are called Zip ride or Zip lines.

Experienced some zip lines here in Mindanao from Camp Sabros, Samal Island, Seadrop zipline, Xcelarator at Outland, Adventure,Eden Nature Park or at Lake Sebu,South Cotabato and it always greet me with excitement and thrill.

Zip all the way

Dahilayan Adventure Park is located at Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon Province and land travel is far from Davao City. It was the invitation by one of our friend to visit and enjoy the place last December, we departed around 10 in the morning travelling up to the northern part of Mindanao via Davao-Bukidnon road.

Pine Trees all over the place

The travel was a bit slow as road construction are ongoing in the area started at Quezon up going to Manolo Fortich. Our vehicle was running at 90-100kph on smooth roads but traffic was heavy on roads undergoing repair.  We arrived at Valencia city around 3:40 and at Malaybalay around 4:25 pm and it was already 6:30 in the evening we arrived at the junction from Manolo Fortich highway proceeding the rough road going Dahilayan Proper. I just took the time so you can justify how slow our travel going to our destination.

Nice place to stay

Still our energy was high that time as all are eager to have a dinner and a good rest.

Horse for rent to enjoy the place

The air is cold and the place surrounded by Pine Trees. I took a shoot of their Pine Grove Lodge that night before I got inside and had my dinner.

The Field

Food was great and we all have the time to rest for the night in this cold place.

Morning came and sun was up, got the chance to roam around the place and talk to some locals. Kids are ready to have their horse for rent available for tourist while other workers started doing carpentry jobs and laying gears for zipline ride.

Breakfast was served hot and fresh with a sunny morning glow of the sun. People are getting in to the zipline area and we are too. It really is a new destination in Mindanao as I talked to other visitors coming from North Cotabato,  Zamboanga and Batangas all to experience the longest dual zipline.

The ride

We availed the package of all in ride – which includes 3 rides. We were harnessed in preparation of our rides and waited for our turn. It took about 45 minutes to enjoy all the rides and then we took our lunch for that day.

The 4x4 truck that brought us to the launching pad of the longest dual zip line

It took 7 hours for us to arrive at Davao City due to the long traffic. Still we enjoyed and experienced again the thrill of the longest dual zip ride.
